CONTRACT FOR ALTSO VOC-TEST CENTER: STANDARDS AT WORK, QUALITY IN BUSINESS HAS BEEN SIGNED AT 22 MARCH 2011

The contract for ALTSO VOC-Test Center: Standards at Work, Quality in Business project has been signed which is awarded within the scope of VOC-Test Centers Grant Scheme on 22nd March 2011 in CFCU.

The total amount of the Project is 280.650,30 €. 252.585,27 Euro which corresponds to %90,00 of the total amount will be funded by EU

The Project of Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry “ALTSO VOC-Test Center:  Standards at work, Quality in Business” has been awarded by EU funding. The general purpose of the project is making contribution on building exam and documentation systems that fulfils needs of employment market; increasing specialization on supply-demand adaptation of employment market; providing improvement in sector quality by promoting career development; contributing national career standards and supporting formation of learning outcomes that fits these standards; encouraging adaptation to European Qualifications Framework (EQF) by strengthen National Sufficiency System (NSS).

The total amount of the Project is 280.650,30 Euro and 252.585,27 Euro which corresponds to %90,00 of the total amount will be funded by EU. With this project, ALTSO VOC-Test Center will be established to realize tests and exams for the accommodation sector. Examination, evaluation and documentation in selected careers will be performed. Vocational standards in selected areas will be prepared in accommodation sub sector; enterprise information system will be founded; awareness of tourism sector in the region about UYS is going to be increased and ALTSO is going to be the leading institution about this vocational sufficiency in the region.

The Partner of the Project is Alanya Association of Touristic Managers (ALTID) and the contributors are Alanya District Director of National Education, Akdeniz University Alanya Business Faculty Tourism Management Department and Umit Altay Hotel and Tourism Vocational High School

The President of Alanya CCI, Mr Kerim AYDOĞAN underlined that one of the priority missions of ALTSO is about education and training programs.  He told that they are in search for more progressive projects to do, and then they had prepared this project for the grant of European Union for 2010. After a long evaluation process, we had learnt that our project has been granted.  And the contract has been signed on March 2011on Tuesday in CFCU.

He also told that this is the first project of our chamber as the applicant. We were partner in the earlier projects. So he wished to have useful results for Alanya and the sector with this project.  

Within the Project cycle, a group of the accommodation sector representatives will be formed because for the project, the Accommodation sector was chosen as the sub-sector. The group will be formed of 10 members and include representatives from ALTID and project participants. The purpose of this group is; to make evaluations regarding the tourism and accommodation sector, provide a mutual information exchange, research new ideas to improve the sector and most important to prepare a competence draft first for the determined carrier areas and then a National Competence draft. The Project shareholder will support and share ideas on the accommodation requirement analysis quarry activity, which will be prepared by the university.

Accommodation Sector Group will study the national competency preparation and create a draft of professional standard in the area of “Laundry Attendant” (level 2) and study the national competency in the areas of Front Desk Attendant (level 4) and Front Desk Manager (level 5). ; An examination, evaluation and certification is going to be done for the professions that have the occupational standards and national competence such as Housemaid/House Valet (level 2), “Floor Attendant” (level 3) and “Front Desk attendant” (level 4), 6 persons exam committee have been constituted, exam have been made to 90 people.
